MARGAO: Former Deputy Chief Minister Vijai Sardesai, on Sunday, said the State government has the numbers to survive, but without any vision it would be a lame duck, which could damage the BJP across the country.
The present government does not have any vision, he said, addressing media persons and charged that some ministers do not have the basic knowledge of the departments they are heading. He alleged that Chief Minister Pramod Sawant only read out the budget document, which was actually prepared by his predecessor late Manohar Parrikar.
“The high layout for agriculture sector in the budget was due to my efforts and I had impressed upon Parrikar to promote floriculture, excellence centre and also organic farming,” he said and added that the present government does not have the time or vision to implement this.
“The present government is replacing Parrikar’s vision for Goa, which will prove to be damaging to Goa and Goans in the near future,” he said and accused the government of doing nothing to introduce agriculture in school curriculum.
Stating that the acts of the BJP in Goa will prove costly for the party at the national level, he said the state BJP’s habit of misleading the central leadership will backfire.
“There is growing distrust in the BJP especially amongst the NDA allies most of whom I met during my recent visit to Delhi,” he said adding that the allies are now maintaining a vigil to make sure that the BJP will not backstab them.
