PANJIM: Ahead of Parliamentary polls, the Goa Su-Raj Party has advocated that regional outfits in Goa should sit together and decide on a Common Minimum Programme to forge an alliance and collectively decide on candidates to be fielded in the North and South Goa Lok Sabha seats.
Goa Su-Raj Party as part of its ‘This is Goa, Respect It’ campaign, has said that it would collect garbage in constituencies over the weekend and leave it at the offices of the MLAs.
The drive that will start from this weekend would begin with Calangute constituency, wherein the volunteers would collect garbage and dump it at MLA Michael Lobo’s office.
GSRP message to the government is, ‘this is Goa, Respect It! Clean It Up or we will collect garbage and leave it at MLA’s office.’
The party has also pointed to the Sahara Group bringing its new Rs 200 crore vessel – QING- into Goa, alleging that it too would be a casino vessel.
It also called the government’s decision to keep Goans out of Casinos as just an eye-wash to put a lid on “the real players in the Casino gaming network which mostly come from other parts of India,’ adding that “It is also known that Casinos are under scrutiny for serious cases of money laundering and counterfeit money by the Enforcement Directorate of India yet we continue to allow more such vessels.”
