Goa Tourism looks to increased footfalls in 2018-19

PANJIM: Goa Tourism is optimistic of a good 2018-19 tourism season and an increase in footfalls from Russia and Germany following its participation at two leading global events MITT-Moscow and ITB-Berlin.

PANJIM: Goa Tourism is optimistic of a good 2018-19 tourism season and an increase in footfalls from Russia and Germany following its participation at two leading global events MITT-Moscow and ITB-Berlin.
According to a statement released by Tourism Department on Friday, an overwhelming response at Berlin and Moscow has enthused Goa Tourism, with industry players expressing an interest in increasing the volume of business and travel trade with Goa.
The two leading global travel events drew large crowds to Goa Tourism’s pavilions and  there was an eagerness from visitors to  know more about Goa, to visit and experience  the destination’s offerings.
Goa’s pavilion showcased the destination’s on-going and latest tourism portfolio, including all its new activities, facets, adventure, culture and festivals.
They drew travel and tour operators and foreign nationals from various regions. Both platforms served as a key meeting place for the industry where B2Bs and interactions were held.
With two months to go for the on-going season to conclude, Goa Tourism is confident of ending the season on a good note and is looking forward to 2018-19 later this year.
The delegation to ITB Berlin was led by Ninfa Silva, DyGM GTDC along with Carmine D’Costa (Information Asst) Tourism Department and the delegation to MITT Moscow was led by Deepak Narvekar , PRO GTDC along with Pradeep Binnar (Asst Tourist Officer) Tourism Department.
