PANJIM: Transport Minister Mauvin Godinho on Monday launched the Android Mobile App ‘Goa Transport’ developed by National Informatics Centre (NIC) and a book based on the Goa Motor Vehicles Rules 1991.
“The app is meant to decrease human interference during these tough times. Also, the world is marching ahead on the digital platform, and the Transport Department does not want to lag behind. Hence, I request the general public to download this app on their smartphones and make the best use of it,” he said while addressing the gathering at the launch held at Secretariat, Porvorim.

The minister informed that the App is available for downloading on the Transport Department’s website www.goatransport.gov.in and will be available on Google Play Store from next week onwards. The app has features such as Yearly payment of Road Tax, Monthly payment of Passenger tax, Payment of Counter Signature Tax, cess fee and check post etc.
The book based on the Goa Motor Vehicles Rules 1991 has been compiled by retired officer N D Agarwal.
