Goans greeted on Easter

PANJIM: “Jesus, who was crucified, is risen!” is the cry of joy that bursts forth from our hearts, every Easter. The Feast of the Resurrection of Christ symbolizes the triumph of love over hatred and of joy over sadness.

 I pray that the Church in Goa may rise to the occasion and express this joy in daily living,” said the Archbishop Filipe Neri Ferrao in his Easter message.  
The Governor Mridula Sinha also extended greetings to the people of Goa on Easter.  
In her message, the Governor said, “Easter commemorates the glorious resurrection of Lord Jesus Christ. It is an auspicious occasion for us to recall the eternal and valuable message of love, forgiveness, tolerance, compassion and brotherhood, preached and propounded by Lord Jesus Christ.”
The Chief Minister, Laxmikant Parsekar too greeted the Christians in Goa on the occasion of Easter. In his message he expressed the hope that the Easter would inspire everyone to work for a peaceful and benign life. He said that the eternal significance of Christ’s resurrection is that love is stronger than hatred and truth triumphs over evil.
