Godinho Seeks Upgrade for Chicalim Sub-District Hospital; Blames Opposition for Delays in ₹550-Crore Flyover Project

Minister Mauvin Godinho has called for the upgradation of the Chicalim Sub-District Hospital, highlighting that the facility continues to function efficiently despite a shortage of staff.

Speaking while launching drain construction works at Chicalim, Godinho said, “The Chicalim Sub-District Hospital is being run very efficiently despite staff shortages. I have, however, discussed the issue with the Health Minister in the Cabinet, demanding an upgradation of the hospital along with additional doctors, nurses, staff, and equipment.”

The minister also criticised certain political leaders, alleging that individuals with vested interests had approached the court against the ₹550-crore flyover project, resulting in reductions in the structure’s height and shortened pillars, which led to a waste of public funds.

Godinho claimed that the flyover project would have been 80 percent complete by now if not for the delays caused by opposition leaders who, he alleged, never wanted the project to progress.
