PANJIM: Goa Forward Party (GFP) President and Town and Country Planning Minister Vijai Sardesai stated that the common minimum program (CMP) has made the incorporation of Goenkarponn in every step of the government.
Addressing the media after the completion of the monsoon session of the Legislative Assembly, Sardesai said, “We have not only taken power but also delivered. Goenkarponn can be seen in every step of the government.”
Stating that the coconut tree’s status has been restored, he said, “Madd is the identity of Goa and we have ensured that it is given the right place. With the amendments we have ensured that anyone cutting down a coconut tree will attract punishment.”
When questioned on difference of position on the pre-election and post-election stand of nationalisation of Goan rivers, he said that the State’s interest were protected post the formation of the alliance government.
“Earlier the MoU was only between the Inland Waterways Authority and the MPT, after the common minimum program it became a tripartite agreement where Captain of Ports has been included on behalf of Goa. Captain of Ports will become the guardian of the rivers,” he stated.
Stating that all the three GFP MLAs who are ministers will work on the brand Goa, he said that in the next 2-3 months they will work and give push to organic farming in the State.
