VASCO: The traditional Gokulashtami celebration and the worship of Lord Krishna which include getting the idol at home and the visarjan of the idol the next day was held in port town but on a low scale amidst the Covid pandemic.
Every year Gokulashtami is celebrated on a grand scale but due to fear of Covid pandemic most of the celebration and devotional ceremonies were restricted to household. Attending devotional programs was not witnessed this year.
The Visarjan rituals did not see many devotees and it was a small scale event. Some locals told reporters after the Visarjan that they prayed to the almighty that the Covid 19 pandemic comes in control in the coming days so that at least the next year all festivals could be celebrated religiously and with much devotion.
