VASCO: Some unknown persons stole gold ornaments worth lakhs of rupees from the Mahalaxmi Temple at Kharewado on Saturday.

According to Vasco Police, the temple committee member complained that on Saturday at around 8.05 am an unknown person wearing a white shirt and blue pant along with a lady wearing pink churidhar and a white dupatta, disguised as devotees and managed to convince the security guard to worship the idol of Goddess Mahalaxmi installed inside the pandal.
They decamped with gold ornaments comprising a set of Chappala Har (gold necklace) weighing 28 gms and a mangalsutra weighing 20 gms all worth Rs 1.92 lakh.
Vasco Police have registered an offence under Section 380 read with 34 of the IPC and are investigating the case.
