VASCO: Goa Customs officials at the Dabolim Airport apprehended a passenger from Muscat and recovered 1630 gms gold paste worth approximately Rs 48.47 lakh.
The gold paste was concealed in waist band of jeans pant and in the shoe soles.
In a press release, Goa Customs stated that based on an input from the sources they apprehended the overseas tourist, who had arrived from the Muscat in Air Oman flight number WY0209. During the regular check, the officials recovered 1630 gms gold paste worth Rs 48.47 lakh which was concealed in the waist band of jean pant and in the shoe soles. The gold paste was seized under the Customs Act,1962.
Since April 2019, Goa Customs has seized gold worth Rs 60.58 lakh at Dabolim Airport, adds the press release.
