PANJIM: Governor Satya Pal Malik released the 2019-20 annual report of Goa Public Service Commission (GPSC) in the presence of GPSC Chairman Jose Manuel Noronha, on Friday.
The report presented in requirement of Article 323(2) of the Constitution brings out the various achievements of the Commission and has shown that it has conducted 33 computer based recruitment tests during this period.
During the year under report, the Commission has advertised around 240 positions and received around 10,500 applications for these posts which include almost 3,700 applications for 22 posts of Junior Scale Officers. Further, the Commission convened 171 Departmental Promotion Committee meetings during the year to consider promotion and confirmation in services of around 750 officers across various government departments.
A total of 12 officers were granted ad-hoc promotions during the year and the Commission processed and concurred with disciplinary proceedings against nine officials.
The GPSC also conveyed approval for framing of recruitment rules for positions in the departments of Health, Water Resources, Prosecution, Civil Aviation and Agriculture.
