PANJIM: The Information Technology (IT) Department has slammed the government departments for failing to update its respective official websites despite request to provide up-to-date information to the general public.
IT Director Derrick Pereira Neto has issued a circular “once again requesting to provide the information on regular basis to the state portal in a time bound manner.”
“Even after requesting to all the Departments/Corporations/Autonomous Bodies to provide the information for updation on State Portal whenever there is change in existing content, there is either delay in sending information or do not submit the information for updation thus affecting the State Portal and reflecting old/outdated information to the citizen,” it states.
“In view of above, all the Government Departments/Corporation/Autonomous Bodies are once again requested to provide the information on regular basis on official email-id [email protected] in a Time Bound manner,” the circular further adds.
The State portal of Goa government, hosts important information pertaining to these institutions such as HoD details, contact details, departmental schemes, tenders, PIO/APIO information, Citizen Charter, State Policies, etc.
Several government departments have not got their websites updated with a few failing to even change the names of their officers despite transfers to other departments.
After several mistakes cropping in the government websites, the IT department pulled up its sleeves to correct the data, which was misleading the citizens.
