PANJIM: The Government has empanelled four Advocates ~ Arjun Bobde, Basuri Swaraj, Pinky Anand and Nirup Reddy ~ on the State Standing Counsels panel in the Supreme Court to appear on behalf of the State for “defending the interest of Government of Goa, with immediate effect…”.
The Standing Counsel is to be paid Rs 5,500 per effective appearance before SC and a fee of Rs 1,000 for every drafting of Affidavit or Special Leave Petition. The State has also appointed Adv Pratap Venugopal of M/s KJ John & Company, the Firm of Lawyers as Advocate on Record for the State and to represent it before the Mhadei Water Dispute Tribunal, Union Ministry of Water Resources. Venugopal’s fees will be Rs 5,500 per appearance.
