MARGAO: Fisheries Minister, Avertano Furtado on Tuesday said that unlike the previous government which threw procedures to the winds, the Parrikar government is carrying out works by floating tenders and implementing development works as per the laid down process.
He was speaking at a function at Navelim on Tuesday held to distribute benefits of various government schemes to the beneficiaries from Navelim constituency.
“News is being spread in the constituency that development work is not taking place in Navelim. But, unlike the previous government which carried out works without tenders, our government has made sure that works will take place only upon floating of tenders. We have already floated some tenders and the work will take place soon,” he told his constituents.
Furtado said he could not attend to the constituents during the last one month because of his pre-occupation with the Assembly session, but has now promised to move door-to-door along with the Village sarpanchas to address the grievances of the people.
He appealed to the people to ensure that no senior citizen is left out from the list of DSSS beneficiaries.
