PANJIM: The government on Tuesday introduced the Goa Members of Legislative Assembly (Removal of Disqualification) Amendment Bill in the Legislative Assembly.
Law Minister Francis D’Souza introduced the Bill in the House, which prevents MLAs from being disqualified if they are holding an office of profit.
The Bill seeks to include certain new offices in the schedule to the Goa Members of Legislative Assembly (Removal of Disqualification) Act, 2005 so that the persons holding those offices shall not be disqualified for being chosen as, or for being, a MLA.
The government also introduced the Goa Aadhar (Targeted Delivery of Financial and Other Subsidies, Benefits and Services) Bill, 2017, which seeks to provide for, as good governance, efficient, transparent and targeted delivery of subsidies, benefits and services.
