PANJIM: Amidst criticism from opposition parties regarding yet another hike in the power tariff, Goa government has issued a notification to hike electricity tariff for the next three months due to levy of Fuel and Power Purchase Cost Adjustment (FPPCA) charges on domestic, industrial and agriculture consumers.
The notification states that the Joint Electricity Regulatory Commission (JERC) for Goa and Union Territories reviewed the existing FPPCA and approved unit cost of power purchase for the financial year 2018-19 for different consumer categories for use in the FPPCA formula.
“The levy of FPPCA for 1st Quarter of FY 2018-19 (April, 2018 to June, 2018) to be levied for the consumption of July 2018 to be billed in August 2018, August 2018 to be billed in September 2018 and September 2018 to be billed in October 2018 as tabulated,” reads the notification.
The FPPCA charges vary between 1.31 ps/unit and 4.33 ps/unit for categories under low tension supply and high tension supply.
