Govt to provide basic facilities, schemes at doorstep: CM

PANJIM: Speaking at the “Sarkar Tumchya Dari” programme for Mormugao Taluka on Friday, Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant said the initiative is aimed to provide basic facilities and government schemes at the doorstep of people attributing all round development of the State.

The inaugural programme was followed by felicitation of senior citizens under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahostav. Cheques of Financial Assistance towards COVID victims’ families were distributed on the occasion.

The CM also reviewed the meeting of Swayampurna Mitra appointed under Swayampurna Goa of Mormugao Taluka and reviewed the work done in each Panchayat and Municipal area. The CM also interacted with Heads of Departments towards delivering hassle free services.

Earlier at the function held at MES College in Zuarinagar, Sawant said the State government is committed towards providing basic infrastructure and facilities to the citizens and that the “Sarkar Tumchya Dari” programme was thus specially conceptualised to identify the various issues and lacunas in the administrative system, while delivering the services to people and to resolve the issue immediately. 

“The programme as of now has received excellent response from the people, at the places the initiative has been launched. People have expressed happiness as their works are getting done without visiting government offices repeatedly. Besides, it also gives full guidance and support to citizens for availing benefits of various welfare schemes,” said Sawant.

Panchayat Minister Mauvin Godinho, Urban Development Minister Milind Naik also spoke on the occasion. Cortalim MLA Alina Saldanha, Vasco MLA Carlos Almeida, NRI Commissioner Narendra Savaikar, South Goa Collector Ruchika Katyal were also present.
