VASCO: Union Railway Minister Piyush Goyal paid a brief visit to New Vadem on Saturday evening. He was accompanied by State Transport Minister Mauvin Godinho.
During the visit, Godinho submitted a proposal to Goyal for building a second railway over bridge at New Vaddem and also urged Goyal to look into the railway double tracking project.
Godinho emphasised that the existing single over bridge is insufficient for the commuters, as such, another parallel over bridge next to the existing one is a necessity. After inspecting the site, Goyal assured to get the work done shortly and asked Godinho to send the work proposals.
On the occasion, when Godinho informed Goyal that only one MLA is against the double tracking project, the latter asked the former to have a joint meeting with Chief Minister Pramod Sawant and that MLA and sort out this issue soon.
