MARGAO: Goa Pradesh Congress Committee vice president Sankalp Amonkar said the BLOs in Mormugao constituency are expected to be shuffled, after the Goa Forward Party took the agitation forward during an all-party meeting with the Chief Electoral Officer.
“We thank the GFP for supporting the issue with the CEO and taking it to the logical end, prompting the Dy CEO to issue an order directing district authorities to randomly change the majority of BLOs who are employed with the power department.”
“We had an all party meeting with the EC and representatives of political parties attended the meet. Goa Forward Party vice president Durgadas Kamat raised this issue that attempts were made to delete 900 voter names from Mormugao constituency using fake objectors, of which some were from Maharashtra and Karnataka.”
When contacted, Goa Forward vice president Durgadas Kamat said Dy CEO Sangeeta Naik had written to the South Collector in this regard.
“The letter states that in view of concerns raised by political parties regarding the parent offices of the BLOs of Mormugao constituency, the South Goa collector has been requested to explore the possibility of replacing the BLOs from staff of other government departments instead of one single department.”
