MARGAO: The Goa Public Service Commission (GPSC) conducted 14 Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) meetings on Thursday to consider promoting officials from various government departments.

At these meetings, nine officials were promoted to the position of junior scale officers in the Personnel Department while four officials were promoted to the position of executive engineers in the Public Works Department (PWD). Another official was promoted to the position of Chief Chemist in the PWD while another official was promoted to the position of Assistant Director of Transport.

Probation period of 50 officers was lifted in the Directorate of Accounts while probation period lifted and services were confirmed for a number of officials in the Directorate of Archives, Dental College and Department of Legal Metrology.

All DPCs are chaired by GPSC Chairman Jose Manuel Noronha, which has as its members Chief Secretary and concerned administrative secretary.

It is to be noted that BDO/Mamlatdar/ Technical officer/Commercial Tax Officer are the feeder grade for junior scale officers.
