GRM hunger strike enters 5th day

The indefinite hunger strike started by the Ganv Rakhon Manch (GRM) to oppose the proposed four-land road from Tilamol to Sanguem court entered the fifth day on Sunday.
It may be recalled that on Saturday, Opposition Leader Manohar Parrikar visited the agitating people in front of the Curchorem police station and claimed that the Congress government had become insensitive to the problems of the common man.
Parrikar, who was accompanied by Sanguem MLA Vassudev Gaonkar and a large number of supporters, advised the GRM to launch a chain hunger strike instead of an indefinite hunger strike.
On the first day, Ajit Parulekar started the hunger strike, but after two days his health deteriorated and he had to be shifted to the government hospital at Cacora.
He was then replaced by former Curchorem-Cacora chairman Paresh Bhende.
