GSIDC temporary office opened

PANJIM: Union Defence
Minister Manohar Parrikar on Tuesday inaugurated the temporary office of Goa
State Infrastructure Development Corporation at Patto, as their existing office
at EDC complex is under renovation.

General Administration
Department (GAD) has allotted temporary office space to GSIDC at Spaces
building, spanning an area of 762 sq mtrs. As reported by Herald, the
government had handed over two floors to GSIDC March 20, 2014 at a monthly rent
of Rs 8.22 lakh.

The lease deed was signed
between Nilesh Amonkar, proprietor of Spaces, and GAD through joint secretary V
M Paranjape on January 17, 2014 for the period from November 1, 2013 to October
31, 2016.

GSIDC was entrusted with
designing and developing the office space. The office will also house the Goa
Investment Promotion Board (IPB).

Chief Minister Laxmikant
Parsekar said that GSIDC was in need of state-of-the art premises. “All
infrastructure built in Goa such as Saligao waste management plant, schools,
girls hostel, grounds, hospital, etc are state-of-the art infrastructure
created by GSIDC,” he said refusing to comment on the current office space
being left unused for over two years.
