PANJIM : Goa Suraksha Manch (GSM) President Anand Shirodkar has said that the party might approach the High Court over alleged manipulations done to EVM machines from where their candidates contested.
Speaking to Herald, Shirodkar said, “GSM might approach the High Court as we feel that there have been manipulations done to the EVM machines in the constituencies from where we contested. As of now there have been discussions going on and final call will be taken in this regard.”
“The party has also got in touch with technicians who have said that the EVM machines can be manipulated and we will be approaching more such experts before going with the decision to approach the HC,” Shirodkar said.
He further said that the number of votes that GSM has got in the constituencies they contested is totally unexpected and that manipulation has been done to favour certain political outfits.
“In Panjim we had a strong base of 1,500 karyakartas who claim that they have all voted for GSM but the end result is that we got only 323 votes, which is not possible. This means that the EVM machines were set to favour some political parties. All the karyakartas including their family members claim to have voted for the GSM and if 1500 have voted for us how it is possible that GSM got only 323 votes. The same has been done in other constituencies where we contested,” he alleged.
Earlier, Subhash Velingkar speaking to Herald said, “The damage to BJP is directly visible in almost 12 constituencies and indirectly in 10 constituencies. The cadre has supported anti-BJP candidates in some consciences due to anger. There has been manipulation in five constituencies including Panjim. It cannot be possible that GSM candidate manages to get only 323 votes when is cadre is of 1,500 people excluding their family members. Other manipulations have taken place in Curchorem and Sanquelim.”
