PANJIM: The newly elected Canacona MLA Isidore Fernandes has denied the rumours that he is planning to resign and make way for a senior leader as “baseless and senseless and are being spread by his ill-wishers.”
In a press statement issued here, Fernandes said that he is “a mass leader in his own right and a very popular leader in the entire Canacona taluka,” therefore, resigning as an MLA does not arise.
Fernandes was responding to rumours that he would be resigning from his seat to allow Manohar Parrikar to contest and win as an MLA.
