PANJIM: Goa Suraksha Manch (GSM) on Thursday announced a pre-poll alliance with new political outfit Goa Praja Party (GPP), which is led by former Tourism Minister Pandurang Raut.
“Today we have finally formed a pre-poll alliance with Goa Praja Party (GPP) as both parties have similar views and share a bond of trust. In the coming elections GSM will go with GPP in alliance, GSM being the principal party,” GSM President Anand Shirodkar said.
“In another eight days we will also formally announce an alliance with Shiv Sena, and GSM being the principal party will decide the chief ministerial face from GSM,” he added
Shirodkar further said that GSM has begun campaigning in 35 constituencies and is getting a massive response across the State. He said the party is confident of gaining power in the 2017 Assembly elections.
“GSM will welcome Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party (MGP) if they want to join the alliance, but will not wait for them till the end,” he added.
