PANJIM: The Manohar Parrikar-led cabinet has decided to relieve Goa Tourism Development Corporation (GTDC) of marketing and promotion of brand Goa. This has now been handed over to Tourism Department.
“The Tourism Department will now solely handle the promotion and marketing of Goa across the globe. GTDC is not a part of this project any longer,” a source said. The cabinet has retained infrastructure development projects with the Corporation.
In another announcement, Tourism Minister Manohar Azgaonkar said the beach cleaning project will be taken up by Tourism Department under the supervision of the Goa Waste Management Corporation.
