PANJIM: In view of the COVID-19 scare, Goa University (GU) has postponed the exams of its undergraduate programmes in affiliated colleges.
The exams, which were slated to begin from April 6, will now start from April 15.

The University Grants Commission has directed all the Universities to postpone all exams, suspend evaluation work till March 31.
The decision to postpone the exams was taken following a meeting between University officials and faculty deans, vice-deans, heads of departments and principals of affiliated colleges.
In a circular issued, GU registrar YV Reddy said that the instructions will be issued on revised examination schedules accordingly.
The State government has already suspended class and examination in schools from Std I to VIII till March 31. The regular classes in colleges are also suspended till month end. However, the ongoing exams, including board will continue.
The GU circular also states that administrative offices will remain functional and teachers will have to report to work as per the schedule, as has been instructed already by the Directorate of Higher Education.
Meanwhile, the Directorate of Education has said that schools, conducting IX to XII exams including Board, have to follow the protocol of maintaining distance of one metre between the students in the examination hall.
This decision has been taken in the view of the latest guidelines issued by the Ministry Health and Family Welfare, regarding measures to be put in place for effective social distancing to curb the spread of COVID-19.
The HSSC board exams are currently ongoing, while that of SSC will begin from April 2.
