MAPUSA: Calangute police on Saturday sealed off a guest house which was allegedly used for running sex racket.
During the course of their investigation into a sex racket that they busted on Wednesday, police reportedly discovered that Marcelo’s Place, a guest house located at Agarwado in Calangute, was being used for running sex racket. Subsequently, the police sealed off the guest house on Saturday.
Calangute PI Jivba Dalvi informed that on questioning, the persons arrested on Wednesday disclosed that Marcelo’s Place was used for running sex racket.
On searching the guest house, Dalvi said, ID proofs of the accused persons and victims were also seized and the room used for keeping the victim girls captives was also sealed off immediately.
It may recalled that on Wednesday, the Calangute police busted a sex racket and arrested one Ashish Sharma (32), a native of Pune and one Meghna Nair (39), a native of Thane in Maharashtra and also rescued two victim girls.
On a tipoff that some pimps were operating in Calangute area and were trying to deliver girls to customers, the police raided different places in the village and arrested the pimps near ‘Fat Fish’ in Calangute. Members of an NGO Savera accompanied the police in their raid.
