PANJIM: The Goa Union of Journalists (GUJ) has condoled the passing away of veteran journalist and GUJ member Valentino Fernandes.
Following a prolonged illness, Valentino breathed his last on Sunday evening. He was 73 and is survived by his wife.
Fernandes started his career with The Navhind Times, then joined Herald and retired from Gomantak Times as the assistant editor. The veteran journalist was known for in-depth investigative and human-interest news stories. He was also known for his well-read column ‘Val & Tino’.
The veteran journalist is also the author of “How To Be An Instant Goan”, one of the best-selling books on Goa.
The Goa Union of Journalists has conveyed its deepest sympathies to the bereaved family.
