Guv condoles death

PANJIM: Governor Satya Pal Malik has condoled death of Ved Prakash Marwah in Goa, on Friday.

In his condolence message, the Governor said, “Ved Prakash Marwah was an outstanding Indian Police Service Officer who also served as Governor of Mizoram, Manipur and Jharkahand. He was Police Commissioner of Delhi during 1980s and also served as Director General of National Security Guards. He led the forces with extreme courage during the difficult times. His fortitude and his professional competence were par excellence.”

The Governor further said, “He will be always remembered as an able administrator and a visionary. May God give strength to his family members at this hour of grief.” “I am extremely sad to know about his demise.  My thoughts prayers are with them,” the Governor concluded.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant attended the funeral at Siolim, on Saturday.
