PANJIM: CM Manohar Parrikar hailed the victory in Ponda and Sankhalim civic polls and promised to fulfill the election promises.
Addressing a press conference at BJP headquarters in the city on Monday, Parrikar said that all unplanned developmental works initiated by the past Congress government will be completed and work in this regard had begun.
The CM made an assurance of providing water connection to each house.
Parrikar, however, refrained from giving statistical analyses on the results, even as BJP won with a small margin in Sankhalim unlike a massive victory in Ponda.
“What matters for us is our victory. I am happy people voted for us despite all odds…we have come to power in both municipalities,” was his only reaction.
Reacting to former home minister Ravi Naik’s son Roy’s defeat in Ponda, Parrikar said in a lighter vein, “People know the difference between drug abuse and non-drug abuse.”
