PANJIM: The High Court of Bombay at Goa on Thursday dismissed the two appeals filed by molestation accused Mangueshi temple priest Dhananjay Bhave, challenging the dismissal of his anticipatory bail applications by Additional Sessions Judge Bela Naik at Ponda.
Dismissing both the appeals, the High Court observed that it did not find any merit in the both the appeals, but commented that the accused can try his luck in the Supreme Court of India.
Opposing the appeal, the prosecution contended that the “matter is very sensitive as the alleged crime was committed in a temple.” However, Bhave contended that he was innocent and that he was ready to cooperate with the investigation.
The case pertains to two Goan origin girls – one residing in Mumbai while the other in the US – who had complained to Ponda police that they were molested by the accused when they had visited Mangueshi temple.
