PANJIM: The High Court of Bombay at Goa has taken suo-motu cognizance of an article published in Herald about the non-availability of an official translation of the Portuguese Civil Code of 1859.
“We are inclined to convert an article “Constitutionalism and the Judicial lapse in Goa” of Dr Marian Pinheiro appearing in daily newspaper “Herald” dated March 15, 2017 with regard to “non- availability of the official translation of the Portuguese Civil Code of 1869” into a PIL Suo Motu,” the order of division bench of Justices Nutan Sardesai and Anoop Mohta said.
