Heavy traffic banned on Chorla Ghat till Dec 31

PANJIM: On the day Chorla Ghat saw a partial landslide that blocked traffic, the State government extended the ban on heavy vehicles through this route until the end of the year. 

The Office of the District Magistrate North Goa on Thursday, extended the time period prohibiting entry and plying of heavy commercial vehicles from Dattawadi, Sanquelim junction to the end of the Goa border on the Goa – Belgaum State Highway No 1 on Chorla Ghat; from (PHC) Sanquelim junction to end of the State border on State Highway No 1 on Chorla Ghat; and Honda junction to end of the State border on State Highway No 1 on Chorla Ghat from July 1, 2021 to December 31, 2021.

Earlier, in the day traffic came to a halt at Chorla Ghat due to the incessant rain that caused a landslide on a section of the road.
