PANJIM: After the successful launch of three projects – Hot Air Ballon, Amphibious bus and seaplane within a span of 15 days this month, the Tourism Department is set to introduce helicopter tourist service by July-end.
Tourism Minister Dilip Parulekar said the government has so far received three bidders including a semi-government Pawan Hans Helicopters Limited. The tender was floated across the globe just recently. “We will be scrutinizing the applications through high powered committee. We are expecting it to commence by July-end followed by commercial operations from the coming tourist season,” he told Herald.
It is reliably learnt that Pawan Hans will be granted the approval even as an official announcement is yet to be made. Ela Farm in Old Goa, Aguada, Canacona, and Colva helipads will be used to start the service.
