Herald reporter bags 2 awards

Herald reporter Vibha Verma bagged two awards ~ Journalist of the Year (special category) and Best Investigative Reporting ~ at the Goa Media Awards 2012 held on Saturday.

PANJIM: Herald reporter Vibha Verma bagged two awards ~ Journalist of the Year (special category) and Best Investigative Reporting ~ at the Goa Media Awards 2012 held on Saturday. The award function, organized by Saimaa Creations in association with Kala Academy and Goa Union of Journalists, was held in recognition of the exceptional talent in print media and their outstanding contribution.

The award had 12 categories and Herald’s Vibha Verma was nominated for three categories also including Female Journalist of the Year, for which Lokmat’s Sonali Desai was the awardee. The Herald awardee has thanked the Jury for selecting her for the awards.

Veteran journalist Gurudas Singbal won the Lifetime Achievement Award while Gokuldas Mulvi for village reporting. Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar gave away the Lifetime Achievement Award.

Shushant Kunkolienkar from Lokmat won under the Environment category, Vasant Katkar (Tarun Bharat) for Art and Culture, Sachin Korade (Lokmat) for Sports, Bhaskar Desai for Tourism, Mahesh Konekar (Tarun Bharat) for Business, Mahesh Divekar under Cartoon category, and Rajtilak Naik from the Times of India for Photography.

Chairman of Kala Academy Vishnu Surya Wagh, Managing Director, IBN 7 Ashutosh and Editor of Dainik Bhaskar Prakash Dube were also present.
