US President Donald Trump has warned that the United States could target Iran’s heavily fortified underground nuclear facility at Pickaxe Mountain “very soon” if American intelligence detects activity at the site.
Speaking to reporters at the White House on Friday, Trump defended the months-long US military campaign against Iran, saying Washington’s primary objective was to prevent Tehran from developing a nuclear weapon.

“We’re in five months now. And you know what we did in five months? They’re not going to have a nuclear weapon; that’s what we did,” Trump said.
He further warned that Iran possessing a nuclear weapon could pose a serious threat to the United States and its allies.
Trump specifically referred to the Pickaxe Mountain facility, saying the site could be targeted if intelligence indicated that nuclear-related activity was taking place there.
“We may hit Pickaxe very soon because if there was anything going on with Pickaxe,” Trump said, adding that US intelligence agencies were closely monitoring developments at the underground site.
The warning comes days after the United States carried out strikes against Iranian military targets, escalating tensions between Washington and Tehran. Trump maintained that the US military campaign was aimed at preventing Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon.
