The report headlined ‘Rs 10.30 cr spent on MLAs but common man left to die’ was absolutely correct on facts and based on ground realities that our reporting team witnessed at the Goa Medical College (GMC). There were photographs accompanying the report that showed the situation at the hospital. The report did not create any panic, on the other hand it appreciated the fact that despite the space restrictions at GMC, patients were not turned away and were still being treated by the doctors.
Regarding the report on the health bills raked up by MLAs, Herald presented the facts as were provided to us under the Right To Information Act. It did not question the expenses, leaving it to our discerning readers to judge for themselves whether it was justified or not.
