CANACONA: Freddy Rebello, a Herald correspondent from Poingunim, expired on Monday night and his funeral was held on Tuesday at 4 pm at his native place at Shellim-Loliem, Canacona.
Freddy cherished journalism as a passion and was the longest serving correspondent from that area.
Freddy was the president of Canacona Journalists Association and was associated with many activist groups in and around Canacona taluka. Freddy was also felicitated by Anil Desai, chairman of Shri Mallikarjun High School, on the occasion of Tilak jayanti. He is survived by his widow and two children.
The Canacona Journalists Association has hailed him as a dedicated journalist and has offered its condolences to his bereaved family. It has also arranged a special condolence meet next week.
