The High Court has issued notices to the Goa government, Goa Coastal Zone Management Authority (GCZMA) and other respondents in connection with a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) alleging violations of Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ) norms, unauthorised construction and destruction of coastal sand dunes at Candolim.
The petition alleges that land bearing Survey No. 112/19 was commercially developed and converted into the luxury resort known as “King’s Mansion.”
The PIL has raised concerns over the alleged violations of coastal regulations and the destruction of environmentally sensitive sand dunes in the area.
The court has sought responses from the government and other concerned authorities on the allegations raised in the petition.
