The meeting was convened by the government and will be held at the ministerial block conference hall. Incidentally, the group ‘Citizen for Sonsoddo’ had recently called for the dissolution of the HPCC, which is chaired by Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar.
The last HPCC meeting was held when Arthur D’Silva was elected as chairperson of Margao Municipal Council (MMC). However, the then Chief Officer (CO) Naveen LS and Parsekar had remained absent. At the meeting, the HPCC recommended the outsourcing of the collection drive and a tarpaulin cover be put immediately on the Sonsoddo dump.
