MARGAO: The roads in Comba area of Margao will finally be hot-mixed in November this year, as the tender for the same has been issued. The work is tendered at Rs 1.34 crore.
The roads in Comba were hot-mixed six years. Since then, the locals have been making several representations to PWD for hot-mixing of roads in Comba, as the condition of the roads was worsening day by day.
Even though there are several educational institutions, temples, and chapels in Comba locality, no action was taken by PWD to hot-mix the roads for last 6 years.
After Ketan Kurtarkar was elected councillor from Comba, he immediately raised the issue of bad roads in his ward before the PWD.
“The PWD has informed me that after completion of tendering formalities, the work will start from November upon re-opening of hot-mix plant and it is a big relief for my fellow ward residents as they are the ones who bore the brunt of the bad roads all these years,” said Councillor Ketan.
