Hot-mixing of Maddel roads soon: Damu

Fatorda MLA Damu Naik on Saturday inspected the Madel area of the constituency and assured the residents that the work of hot-mixing of roads and the nullah would begin soon.
During a visit to the ward this morning, the MLA said that he had never ignored Madel during his 7-8 year tenure as MLA and added that his biggest achievement so far has been the completion of the sewerage project in Madel area.
“The sewerage project is almost complete. The nullah from the Red Roof side, besides hot-mixing of roads at Madel will be taken up immediately”, he added.
Saying that some people are misguiding the people just to take credit for taking up these works, the Fatorda MLA said any lay person can seek details from the PWD and see for themselves the proposals and the follow up action taken by him to get the projects sanctioned and executed.
Naik said that he has always been accessible to the people of Fatorda and urged the people to even mail him their grievances for redressal.
“All works in Madel will be cleared in the beginning of 2011”, he assured the residents of Madel.
Meanwhile, Naik’s bete noire and political rival, GPCC General Secretary Vijay Sardessai along with traffic officials and Margao Municipal Councillors inspected the traffic situation at the Linga traffic junction near the Nehru Stadium on Friday evening.
The entire stretch from the Linga junction down to the Nehru Stadium was inspected along with Margao Traffic Cell incharge PI Prabodh Shirwaikar.
The GPCC general secretary called upon the traffic officials to streamline the traffic flow along the road and make provision for vehicular parking.
MMC Councillors Joseph Silva and Bertha Cardozo also accompanied Sardessai.
