SOCORRO: A house at Vaddem, Soccoro was destroyed in fire causing a loss of around Rs 40 lakh, on Friday afternoon.
Mapusa Fire Department said that the house belonged to one Sebastian Almeida. Almeida suspects that a short circuit ignited the fire. The fire started on the mezzanine floor of the residential house. The items damaged included 62 vintage guitars, electrical fixtures, sofa sets, fridge, six split AC’s, wooden racks for music items, saxophone and internal painting.
Almeida said that the guitars were autographed by renowned musicians.
Mapusa fire station in-charge Bosco Ferrao informed that he would write to the Electricity Department to ascertain the cause of fire.
