The Pilerne fire personnel on Wednesday responded to emergency calls such as trees crashing on cars, roads, houses and electrical wires.
Electricity lines snapped, poles were damaged, vehicles and houses also suffered damage.
Pilerne fire station official informed Herald that they came across several instances of trees getting uprooted in Candolim.
“Some of the trees and the branches were cleared by us. Some were difficult to clear and hence we have referred the same to a professional tree cutter. The owners have been asked to provide a statement of the damage and loss incurred,” he said.
