The expenditure of the recently concluded edition of International Film Festival of India (IFFI) has shot up due to the increase in the number of delegates.
Entertainment Society of Goa’s (ESG) Executive Committee meeting chaired by Chairman Digambar Kamat took stock of the expenditure for IFFI 2010.
Talking to reporters after the meeting, ESG’s Chief Executive Officer Manoj Srivastava said that the expenditure on the rooms have increased during IFFI 2010.
“We received tremendous response for IFFI 2010 as the festival is growing. We have curtailed the expenditure to a great extent by compensating it with the sponsorers,” he said adding that despite several measures, the budget will exceed the limit.
Goa government has sanctioned Rs 7.35 crore for IFFI 2010 and in addition, the ESG will collect funding through sponsorships.
Srivastava said that the sponsorship has been increased by 80 per cent compared to last year.
He, however, said that the exact amount of sponsorship could be quantified only after total recovery of the dues and auditing of the accounts.
The two-hour long ESG meeting on Monday also decided to give the young Jury Award constituted during IFFI 2010 in the second week of March.
Neel Madhab Panda, director of ‘I am Kalaam’ has won the award, which is instituted by ESG in association with Lokmat group.
