Husband held for murdering Sanvordem woman; remanded in police custody

CURCHOREM: Police on Friday cracked the Sanvordem murder case by arresting the husband of the murdered woman. He was produced before the Judicial Magistrate First Class, Quepem, which remanded him in police custody for seven days.

CURCHOREM: Police on Friday cracked the Sanvordem murder case by arresting the husband of the murdered woman. He was produced before the Judicial Magistrate First Class, Quepem, which remanded him in police custody for seven days.
However, the accused has been admitted in Hospicio Hospital, Margao, after he complained of chest pain.
According to police, Mandanath Bhandari murdered his wife Manjusha on Thursday morning by stabbing her with a sharp weapon.
Interestingly, after murdering his wife, Bhandari took bath and went for work at Usgaon. When a neighbour went to his house, she found Manjusha lying dead on the floor. Immediately, the police were alerted.
The police pressed into service a dog squad, finger print expert and forensic expert to investigate the case.
The police also summoned the accused from his work place for questioning. Initially, the accused put up a show by crying and shouting. But, later he confessed to the crime. A neighbour informed that there used to be occasional quarrels between the couple who have two minor girls.
