PERNEM: The Pernem police on Saturday arrested one Mazhar Ahmed Mohammed (51), a native of Hyderabad and presently residing at Gadachawada, Keri, for possessing narcotic substance suspected to be ganja worth Rs 50,000.
According to information obtained, a team of Pernem police headed by PSI Vivek Halarnkar conducted a raid between 7.30 pm and 10.15 pm and the accused person was caught red-handed while in possession of narcotic drugs suspected to be ganja weighing 500 grams worth Rs 50,000 approximately which he had concealed in his rented room.

The accused is placed under arrest under Section 20 (b)(i) (A) of NDPS Act.
