Herald: You have won by a huge margin of 5368 votes. To what do you attribute this win?
Kuncalienker: It is an expression of the confidence that people expressed in our government and in Manohar Parrikar (former Panjim MLA and present Defense Minister) who has been the legislator for Panjim for 20 long years. Moreover, party karyakarkas (workers) dedicated themselves thoroughly during the campaigning and at other times for the party. I will now work taking along everybody, including my opposition. I am happy with the victory margin. It is the belief of all my workers that also helped me win this by-election.
Herald: What will be your priorities?
Kuncalienker: Definitely whatever has been mentioned in the by-election manifesto. The first priority will be waste management and traffic.
Herald: There has been a charge that the Corporation has been neglected?
Kuncalienker: The charge is wrongly based. People out there know he (referring to Congress’ Surendra Furtado) had the attitude of ‘I am the boss’ and this has taken him down. I have a question for him. Where is the Rs 300-odd crore?
