Ibrampur village ‘neglected by MP’

GPCC president, Khalap visit village adopted under MPLAD

PERNEM: GPCC President Girish Chodankar was disappointed over non-development of Ibrampur village.
Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) President Chodankar along with former Union Law minister Ramakant Khalap and other GPCC members visited Ibrampur village on Friday in order to check the development of the village as the village is adopted under MPLAD.
During the visit, GPCC President Girish expressed his disappointed over non-development as an adopted village under MPLAD. While interacting with the people, it was found that the all the promises made by MP Shripad Naik are not fulfilled as the village still faces problem with basic facilities such as electricity and water supply.
People expressed their concern over the visit of Shripad Naik saying that after adopting the village, the MP did not interact with the people even once in the last five years.
Girish Chodankar said, “It was disappointing to see that even after five years no major changes can be seen in the village. Also people here complained that the MP who adopted this village did not interact with them even once in five years after adoption”.
Assuring people of Ibrampur, Chodankar said, “We have always stood on the promises that we have made as before making any promise we see that if we can really fulfill that promise. If we come to power then, as Village Panchayat is a body which looks after the village, by taking the panchayat together once in two months an interactive session will be held in the village and development will be carried out taking the people along. We will make proper use of people’s energy”.
